Sending Email or Announcements

You can send an announcement to all of your course or email specific stream groups.

 

 

Send an Announcement

 

  1. Select the Course from the Course Tree on the left of the screen.  
     

  2. Click on the Announcements function listed for the course.
     

  3. On the toolbar, click the New button. An activity dialog window opens up with a selection of choices.
     

  4. Type in a title for your announcement in the Subject line.
     

  5. Type in your message text.  You may copy and paste text from email, Word documents, websites, Excel, and other programs. This window works similar to most email programs.

  6. On window's toolbar, click the Send & Close button to complete the announcement.  The announcement will now appear within the Announcements section.
    By default the box for sending the announcement to students email is already selected. If you do not wish students to receive an email you must un-tick the box.
     

 

Send an email via Streams

 

  1. Select the Course from the Course Tree on the left of the screen.
     

  2. Click on the Streams function listed for the course.
     

  3. Select the stream group you wish to email.
     

  4. Click Email from the toolbar along the top. This will open a email message box. The email addresses of the members of the chosen stream will already be entered in the 'To' section.
     

  5. Type your message and click Send. All of the members in the stream will receive the email.
